Guatemala, my first country in Central America
It was my first trip to Central America and I have fond good memories. Memories that became unique and different experiences from what I knew at that time. It was the first time that I saw an entire population dressed in typical costumes called huipil, a town that still maintains the traditions of its ancestors.
I loved their colorful markets, like Todos Santos, Sololá and Chichicastenango. The towns of Lake Atitlan where they still keep alive their ancestral customs such as venerating Maximón, a rag and straw doll. Or the magic of Tikal, one of the most important archaeological sites in the Mayan world and seeing the sun rise from Temple V.
In contrast, travel to the unknown Caribbean, away from tourist routes, a small paradise of coconut palms and fine sandy beaches where people still speak Garifuna and English. And the end of year I went to Antigua, one of the oldest and most beautiful cities in all of America. Therefore, an encounter with history, nature, culture and tradition.
