I visited the Maldives when few people knew about them yet. It was after a long and exhausting trip throughout India that I wanted to spend a week at the beach and I chose Rannalhi Island, before it was closed and it was exclusive to the Adaaran Club Rannalhi hotel like many of the islands that nowadays the big unfortunately, hotels have taken them over.

I think I had never been to beaches where the sand was so white and the water so turquoise. These were my beginnings as a traveler and I had not yet been to the Pacific or the Indian Ocean. Here I enjoyed a worthwhile rest taking advantage of seeing the seabed and the spectacle of the sunsets inside a simple cabin in front of the beach.
