Laos, a beautiful country
When I worked as a guide in Vietnam and I had no “clients” I used to travel to neighboring countries and between these trips to Laos, a fairly unknown country that has been gradually putting itself on the map.
I can say that I was very attracted by the still “virgin” sites that I was able to step on. Here I got to know one of the most beautiful Asian cities in Southeast Asia, Luang Prabang and its temples where I coincided with a canoe race.
I crossed the Mekong River by boat to reach Muang Sia, in the middle of the golden triangle, where I made long walks to meet the Akah, one of the Laotian ethnic groups.
I remember the south of the capital, Vientiane, where the city of Savannakhet is located, where you can still see buildings from the French era and where I very much remember the Mekong sunsets.
But one of the objectives was the search for elephants to see how they removed the teak trees from the jungle; here I remember that since there was no accommodation, they left me a chicken coop to spend the night.
A country rich with experiences.
