Catalonia on the island of Biak

On my trip to the west of Papua I visited the island of Biak, a place away from the tourist routes of Indonesia. An island surrounded by white sandy beaches with the breath taking beauty of colourful shallow reefs and magnificent coral gardens.

The largest population centre is located in Kota Biak on the south coast. The rest of the island is sparsely populated with small villages.

I wanted to get into the life of the locals and I was staying with a family on the island of Owi, near Biak where the children were my best allies and one of the days I gave them music lessons by memorizing the song that is on fashion nowadays in Catalonia.
