Contrast of Cultures
Talks
We will move into three landscapes and cultures very different between them:
Tibet, the roof of the world
Antarctica, the ‘Land of Ice’
Japan, the ‘Land of the Rising Sun’
Tibet, Shangri-la, the land of snow, the roof of the world. For centuries, it was a country isolated in the Himalayas, the great mountainous system that assembles the world’s highest peaks. For travellers, it has been the forbidden land. For those seeking to approach the spiritual space, it has been the territory of mystery, of the unknown, of isolation.
Antarctica, a journey to the most remote and fascinating untouched nature reserve and wildlife on Planet Earth. An incomparable world is opened before the white ice pinnacles that sail silently like a ghost ship.
Japan, known as the ‘Land of the Rising Sun’, is an economic power which has a long history and a very particular culture. It offers an almost unreachable succession of landscapes scarcely altered by human intervention. A culture that leaves no one indifferent.
