Les \u00e8tnies dels mentawai<\/strong> es troben a les illes Mentawai<\/strong>, enfront de la costa occidental de Sumatra<\/strong> (Indon\u00e8sia). Viuen a la jungla de Siberut<\/strong> i l\u2019acc\u00e9s per arribar-hi no va ser gens f\u00e0cil, per camins fangosos amb troncs i arrels d\u2019arbre que calia anar trampejant.<\/p>\n

Se\u2019ls coneix amb el nom d\u2019homes flor<\/em><\/strong>, perqu\u00e8 s\u2019ornamenten amb flors i tamb\u00e9 amb tatuatges<\/strong> per presentar-se bells i agradables als ulls dels esperits.<\/p>\n

Viuen a la uma<\/em>,<\/strong> el nom que rep la casa comunal dels mentawai<\/strong>. Aquesta acostuma a estar prop d\u2019un riu, constru\u00efda al terra, <\/span>\u00a0sobre de pilons i amb materials procedents de la jungla.<\/p>\n

El mentawai \u00e9s un poble que est\u00e0 molt lligat a la natura<\/strong>, on els homes es dediquen a la ca\u00e7a<\/strong> i a processar el palmell de sag\u00fa<\/strong>, la seva principal font de recursos. Des de les branques per fer els sostres de les cases, a l\u2019escor\u00e7a per elaborar les cistelles o ja sigui per agafar els cucs per menjar-se\u2019ls.<\/p>\n

Va esdevenir tota una experi\u00e8ncia! Una experi\u00e8ncia i un aprenentatge de resist\u00e8ncia i superviv\u00e8ncia a la jungla.<\/p>\n
